Spanish driver Marc Gene has denied the rumours which linked him with the Prost Grand Prix team in order to replace Argentine's Gaston Mazzacane this season.
Gene is the current test driver for the Williams team, and he admitted he is very happy with his role at the Grove-based team.
"Williams is an amazing team," Gene told the Efe news agency. "They are very professional and have only one aim: to win. They are used to winning and they've only stopped doing it when they didn't have a competitive engine.
"Obviously, I would love to be on the starting grid, but I've already accepted that this year I will be a test driver, and I'm very happy about it. I'm learning and progressing a lot."
It is thought, however, that Mazzacane is set to be replaced before the Spanish Grand Prix next week, and following Gene's denial, Frenchman Stephane Sarrazin could be the favourite.
