Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw says that, as far is he is concerned, Cosworth will not be supplying another team on the grid for the 2002 season.
The Northamptonshire-based company that supplies Jaguar and has now signed with Arrows for next year, has been linked to European Minardi for a third supply.
But Walkinshaw believes that will not be the case and said: "There isn't any (third supply). I can't guarantee it because I am not at the company, but from what I am told there is no way they'll do any more."
This may come as a blow to Minardi chief Paul Stoddart, who says that next year's Minardi car designs have been based around a Cosworth engine unit.
"The way the 2002 car is designed, it would be easier to put the Cosworth in because the car was sort of designed with that engine in mind," he said. "I am sure the Ferrari one would adapt pretty nicely, but I think it is fair to say that we're a touch closer to Cosworth."
Stoddart has several options and if Prost retains the Ferrari engine and Cosworth decide to supply just two teams, Minardi could still take an Asiatech engine or use their own newly-developed unit.
