The resurgent Williams team has hinted that they may introduce a new chassis before the end of the season in a bid to continue their upturn in form.
Suggestions have developed in the media that the team will introduce a Williams FW23B, and chief aerodynamicist Geoff Willis has refused to deny that as a possibility.
"We are always making modifications and, like all the teams, we are trying to get the most out of testing before the testing ban [in the off-season]," said Willis. "We are doing quite a lot of work related to next year's car on this year's but at the moment I would not like to make any further comment."
However, Willis did hint that a story suggesting the introduction of a new chassis did have some elements of truth.
Williams are just 10 points behind McLaren in the Constructors' Championship and driver Ralf Schumacher sits just six points behind second-placed David Coulthard in the World Championship.
After major reliability problems in the early part of the season, at least one Williams has made it to the finish in every one of the last five races with fourth their lowest finish.
And an end of season push could help the team rise to second in the constructors' championship and ensure Schumacher finishes second only to his brother Michael in the chase for the drivers' title.
