Schuey Celebrations 'Not as Wild as 2000'

Monday August 20th, 2001

Michael Schumacher partied into the night after his Hungarian Grand Prix win secured his fourth World Championship - but he failed to repeat the singing antics that marked his third world crown.

The German Ferrari driver partied with his team at their hotel in Budapest after his Hungarian Grand Prix victory clinched both the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships. But the celebrations did not involve a repeat of the wild antics that were displayed after the 2000 Japanese Grand Prix when Schumacher performed his favourite karaoke songs.

"The whole team had a dinner at their hotel and there was a party afterwards," Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm said. "There was a lot of dancing and drinking but it was not as wild as last year.

"It was still a wonderful night and there was a lot of singing. Michael danced with his mechanics and it went deep into the night. It was a very good night."
