Benetton Ahead of Jordan on the Field

Wednesday August 29th, 2001

The Benetton team will be hoping they can repeat their off-track performance at the Belgian Grand Prix after beating their Jordan rivals in a football match on Tuesday.

The ninety minute friendly inter-team football match between the Jordan and Benetton crews took place in Brackley, England, resulting in a 7-4 result to the men in blue.

Sporting their striking new yellow and black football kit provided by the team's sponsor, PUMA, eighteen Jordan team members from a broad range of departments, played a competitive match to score two goals in the first half with two excellent saves.

The match was played in good spirit from both sides and although the Jordan boys put up a good defence, Benetton had the edge on the night.
