Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo will be honoured with the freedom of the town of Maranello on Thursday evening, the team announced.
Di Montezemolo will receive a key and a parchment scroll at the Enzo Ferrari Auditorium and the ceremony will be seen on a giant screen in the Piazza Liberta in the town.
Mayor of Maranello Giancarlo Bertacchini said: "Under Montezemolo's guidance, Ferrari has once again taken the drivers' and constructors' Formula One World Championship titles and the marque's prestige continues to grow on the world stage.
"Thanks to Montezemolo, ties between the company and the area have grown closer. Ferrari has invested heavily in Maranello, with projects like the Renzo Piano designed wind tunnel and new industrial structures, currently under construction.
"The Galleria Ferrari is the most visited museum in Modena Province and with the launch of the 550 Maranello, the name of our town now features on a new Ferrari model."
