Arrows Hit Back After Claims by Former Workers

Friday February 23rd, 2001

Arrows have refuted claims that motor chief Tom Walkinshaw deliberately excluded former chief executive Keith Shepherd and chief financial officer Christopher Hicks from management decisions.

Hicks was reported as claiming that he was treated with such contempt that he was forced to occupy a spare desk in the marketing department.

But an Arrows spokesperson said: "Arrows strongly refutes the claims by Keith Shepherd and Chris Hicks in relation to their employment by Arrows Autosport Limited.

"Arrows will be vigorously defending this opportunistic action and is confident that these misguided allegations will be thrown out by the court. Arrows do not wish to make any further comment at this stage."

Both Hicks and Shepherd are believed to be suing the company for damages for breach of contract as well as payment of their salaries, bonuses and share options.
