Ferrari's Michael Schumacher hinted after testing at Mugello on Wednesday that he could follow Jean Todt and the Ferrari design team in signing a contract extension.
Todt, Ross Brawn, Rory Byrne and Paolo Martinelli will all remain at Maranello until 2004 and Schumacher said the signing of the quartet has strengthened the chances of him remaining with the Italian marque.
The German said: "It might have an influence over a possible lengthening of my own contract with the Scuderia.
"It is an important decision for the whole team, because it guarantees stability for several years and it's fundamental if we are to start a new era."
Schumacher's current contract with Ferrari expires at the end of the 2002.
