Due to the intense heat at this year's first two Grand Prix in Australia and Malaysia, the Ferrari team is considering the use of a purpose-built cooling vest for their drivers.

While driving a Formula One car, the cockpits can reach more than to 50 degrees Celsius, especially in hot countries, and drivers can lose up to two liters of fluid.

Designed in Australia for the army members, the vest is made of bubble wrap polymer filled with water that circulates through it, cooling down the driver.

If the new system turns out to be successful, it could make its debut at the Australian Grand Prix on March 4.
