Ferrari driver Rubens Barrichello is set to become a father for the first time, according to reports in Brazil.

Brazilian newspapers and magazines have claimed that Barrichello is set to become a father this year.

The reports claim that Barrichello's wife Silvana is expecting a baby, the couple's first in four years of marriage.

Silvana, 25, is believed to be in her first month of pregnancy, and will spend a period of rest together with her husband at the end of the Ferrari driver's European testing schedule.

"The news gives me even more strength to go well," Barrichello is reported to say. "I feel it's going to be a great year."
