Monday January 22nd, 2001

According to 'The Rich Report 2001' published in the Mail on Sunday newspaper, Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone and his wife Slavica are in sixth position amongst the 300 wealthiest people in Great Britain.

The list, which included British citizens or people who spend most of the time in the United Kingdom, was headed by Hans Rausig, the owner of Tetra Pak, with a wealth of 5.96 billion pounds, clearly ahead of second place man The Duke of Westminster on 3.96 billion pounds.

Ecclestone, Formula One rights owner, and his wife Slavica were in sixth place with £1.9 billion.

Arrows boss Tom Walkinshaw occupied the 161st position with £180 million, while McLaren's Ron Dennis, the last of the motorsport celebrities to appear on the list, was 178th with £170 million.
