Ramirez Set to Retire

Tuesday January 23rd, 2001

McLaren's team co-ordinator Jo Ramirez is set to retire from Formula One next month, according to reports.

Mexican Ramirez has been one of the most popular faces in the Formula One paddock for years, having worked for Maserati, Eagle, Porsche, Tyrrell, Fittipaldi and McLaren.

During his years with McLaren, 59-year old Ramirez has been known by the world as the man who, after each race, picked up the helmets of drives like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, David Coulthard or Mika Hakkinen.

An official announcement from McLaren should be expected soon.
