Sauber team chairman Peter Sauber has confirmed that the Swiss team's chief designer Sergio Rinland will leave the team before the start of the 2001 season in March.
"Sergio is leaving at the end of the month," said Sauber. "I cannot say who is coming in but it will be a big surprise."
Argentine designer Rinland's latest design, the new C20 car, was unveiled at the team's official launch at their Hinwil base on Wednesday.
British designer Gary Anderson, who was replaced at Jaguar in December, and former Prost technical director Alan Jenkins have both been linked with the post.
Sauber will have the youngest line-up in Formula One with German Nick Heidfeld, 23, and Finn Kimi Raikkonen, 21, as their two drivers.
