Former triple Formula One World Champion and team owner Jackie Stewart will serve as a Grand Marshal for this weekend's Daytona 24 Hours sports cars race.
The most prestigious endurance race in America, and probably in the world behind the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Daytona race will begin next Saturday, with the Scotsman presiding the day-long event.
"I am delighted to be a part of this year's Rolex 24 at Daytona," said Stewart. "It's a great race at a great facility and is surely one of the most challenging endurance events on the world race calendar."
"It's an honour to have Jackie Stewart presiding as grand marshal at the Rolex 24 At Daytona," said Speedway President John Graham. "His international acclaim as one of the world's greatest racers makes him a natural choice to preside over North America's most prestigious sportscar endurance race."
Paul Stewart, Jackie's son, won the Daytona 24 back in 1989.
