Jacques Villeneuve has always talked straight and ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix, his home race, he has criticised his fellow countrymen as drivers.
Villeneuve, who will be looking to improve his poor record at the Montreal circuit named after his father Gilles, said he feels safer driving on European roads than in North America.
"Basically, I avoid driving in North America," said Villeneuve. "In Europe, people pay a little more attention because everybody drives fast. But here, it's more dangerous.
"So I prefer not driving here... I feel much safer on the race track than on the roads. There are a lot of people out there who are just going to a picnic."
