Ferrari's sporting director Jean Todt has dismissed the speculation about Rubens Barrichello's future with the Italian team following reports which claimed the Maranello-based outfit are already looking for a replacement to drive alongside Michael Schumacher in 2002.
"Ferrari are happy with their drivers and, at the moment, are not talking to anybody," Todt said in an interview with RAI. "His (Barrichello's) performance this season has been excellent. In the last race he did not finish in the podium due to a problem with the car."
Todt's comments come after the Italian press reported on Tuesday that Ferrari were interested in hiring Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen or Nick Heidfeld for next season.
RAI is scheduled to interview Barrichello on Thursday during Ferrari's testing at Fiorano, where he is expected to talk about his situation at the team.
