Veteran driver Jean Alesi has denied rumours about his retirement at the end of the 2001 season.
The 36-year old Frenchman, is his twelfth full season in Formula One, was rumoured to be ready to leave Grand Prix racing at the end of the year in order to start a new career in the American CART series.
However, Alesi has admitted he is not thinking about retiring after scoring his best result in nearly two year at Sunday's Monaco Grand Prix, where he finished sixth with the Prost team.
"I'm very happy for the team and for the excellent work we've been doing," Alesi said. "I don't know which team I'll be with next year, but I can assure you I will still be in Formula One. I've got no intention of leaving."
Alesi has competed in 191 Grands Prix, having scored only one win at the 1995 Canadian Grand Prix.
