Formula 3000 champion Justin Wilson has confirmed that he still has no drive secured for 2002 - and he is finding it difficult to even get a test drive in Formula One.
Wilson tested for Jordan in October but lost out on a race drive to Japanese Takuma Sato. He has since tried, and so far failed, to find a race drive in the Indy Racing League (IRL) in America and is currently in limbo.
"I would definitely like to do F1, it is a good place to start, but very difficult to get into", said Briton Wilson. Wilson has recently returned from the United States where he visited the CART finale at Fontana. But nothing has been finalised and he has no plans for a future visit.
"There are no teams in specific that I'm talking to," he added. "It's more general really. Ideally I would like to do CART, but IRL or Sports Cars is an option that I am looking into."
The 23-year-old will return to the track this week as he will test a Lola F3000 car at Estoril.
"I am looking forward to driving the new car," he said. "The most important thing for me is to keep racing."
