Minardi Target Arrows Technical Man

Friday September 7th, 2001

European Minardi boss Paul Stoddart has set his sights on boosting his technical team by targeting Arrows head of research and development John Davis.

Minardi lost important engineering stability when Gustav Brunner left the team to join Formula One new boys Toyota, and Gabriele Tredozi stepped in as technical co-ordinator. If Minardi do secure Davis, it is believed that Tredozi will remain in his current position and Davis will arrive in a deputy role and also head of research and development.

"We are talking to John," confirmed Minardi chief Paul Stoddart. "But it won't be as technical director."

Davis, 45, has spent a significant amount of his time in Formula One with Lotus and Jordan, and is a specialist in aerodynamics.
