Ecclestone Switches to Two Wheels

Saturday September 8th, 2001

Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone and his wife Slavica were given the ride of their lives on Sunday, when American Randy Mamola took them for a ride with the Yamaha two-seater bike.

Mamola, a four-time 500cc championship runner-up, took both Ecclestone and Slavica around the Estoril circuit in Portugal, where the eleventh round of the motorcycling world championship takes place this weekend.

After the five-minute ride, 70-year old Ecclestone was delighted.

"Incredible," Ecclestone said. "It's one of the greatest things I've done in my life, especially because I've done it with Randy Mamola."
