Pollock - Watch this Space
British American Racing's managing director Craig Pollock welcomed Jacques Villeneuve's point at the Italian Grand Prix - because he needed some good news. The Brackley-based team boss had his bags, one of which contained a Rolex watch given to him by Villeneuve, stolen from the BAR motorhome on race day and the Canadian's sixth-placed finish will have come as welcome news.
Is There Any Logic?
The United States Grand Prix is expected to prove a logistical nightmare for the eleven Formula One teams. The teams face extensive security checks before flying and the British-based outfits will now have to leave from around Europe because of the lack of flights leaving London. The extra checks are likely to add at least 24 hours to the total travelling time to Indianapolis and teams will face a major logistics problem when they return to office on Monday.
All Celeb-Ed Out
The terrorism attacks on the United States earlier this week clearly had a knock-on effect on the activity in the paddock at Monza. The cancellation of the majority of sponsorship events meant that the usual bustle of the paddock and pitlane was not evident, nor the appearance of the world's biggest celebrities. Instead the atmosphere was subdued and the glitz and glamour was missing, for this year at least.
