Johnny Herbert has clinched a deal to drive in the prestigious Indianapolis 500 in May - as he aims to complete the 'triple crown' of motor racing.
The 37-year-old has agreed to drive for Duesenberg Brothers Racing at the famous Brickyard oval in his bid to emulate fellow Briton Graham Hill. Herbert has already won three Grands Prix in Formula One and earned a Le Mans victory and the Indy 500 would complete the set.
"Since I was 10 years old I wanted to win in Formula One - which I've done - Le Mans - which I've done - and the Indy 500," Herbert said. "It was those three I wanted to win and I'm very pleased to be given this wonderful opportunity to complete my dream."
Herbert will be hoping to add to the success of the historic Duesenberg team - who won the Indy 500 four times in the 1920's.
