Grand Prix legend Murray Walker received a special award for his contribution to television at the British Association of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) last weekend.
Walker retired at the end of last year and had commentated on Grand Prix racing every season since the Formula One World Championship was created in 1950.
He was, however, beaten to the award for best sports programme by the cricket coverage shown on Channel 4 last year. Walker now works for the Orange mobile phone company, providing his own personal insight into each race.
He will also appear on the ITV Formula One show, which he left last year, when he guests in the studio for the British Grand Prix.
