Jordan Denies Rumours about Honda Exit

Friday April 26th, 2002

Jordan Denies Rumours about Honda ExitTeam boss Eddie Jordan has denied engine suppliers Honda are planning to dump his Silverstone-based squad at the end of the season.

Jordan have endured a disappointing 2002 so far, having failed to score a single point in the first four races of the year, and some paddock rumours claimed that the Irish entrepreneur was already looking for an alternative engine supplier for the near future.

However, Jordan said Honda - who also provide engines to British American Racing - are committed to the team and will honor their current contract, which expires at the end of 2003.

"We have a firm contract with Honda running through next year," said Jordan. "Some of you have been saying that Honda is about to run away from us, but I don't know that to be the case.

"Honda are a fabulous partner with very skilled people and we are all working hard, on the car and on the engine, to improve results."
