Cosworth remain guarded over strengthening suggestions that they will supply Jordan with engines next season as part of a three-year deal to bring the Ford name back to Formula One.
The Northampton-based engine manufacturer currently supplies engines to Jaguar and Arrows but has admitted they could provide a third supply and there have been strong links to Jordan, based just down the road at Silverstone.
The team would not deny the rumours on Thursday, while Cosworth CEO Brendan Connor admitted: "The speculation is interesting but at this stage it is not possible to comment on the matter."
The deal, which would end Jordan's contract with Honda one year early, is expected to be concluded within the next two weeks in time for an announcement at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
