Minardi team principal Paul Stoddart said on Wednesday that he is looking at drivers who could replace Alex Yoong in 2003 but has not yet made a decision to drop the Malaysian driver.
Media reports in Germany quoting Stoddart saying he had decided to let Yoong go next season have been strongly denied by the Australian team boss.
"This is absolute nonsense," said Stoddart. "I have not said any such thing. I have been completely consistent when speaking with the media and no decision has been made."
Yoong has been rested for two races, replaced by Briton Anthony Davidson for last weekend's race in Hungary and next weekend's Belgian Grand Prix. Briton Justin Wilson and American Bryan Herta have both been linked, along with Davidson, to a place in the team next year.
And Stoddart added: "All the names speculated about are worthy of consideration but we have no pressure to make a decision at this time."
