Dutch driver Christijan Albers has denied he is about to sign with Minardi and insisted he will be racing for Mercedes in the German Touring Car (DTM) Championship next year.
Reports have linked Albers with one of the two vacant drives for next year at the back-of-the-grid team and his manager has been quoted as saying a deal is "close" to being completed.
But when asked if he was going to sign for Anglo-Italian squad, Albers said today: "No. Formula One is always a dream but that is still some way away for me. I am concentrating on the DTM at the moment."
Albers, who raced for Minardi boss Paul Stoddart's Formula 3000 team two years ago, will drive the Australian businessman's two seater cars in China but insists that is as far as his links go.
