The Williams Formula One team on Monday presented a new 51,000 square foot museum and conference centre on the British squad's site at Grove, near Wantage. The new building commemorates the 25th anniversary of the historic outfit.
"The business of Formula One leaves little time to dwell on history, and quite rightly most of our energies are committed to the future," said team boss Frank Williams.
"However, I hope the magnificent new facilities will provide a useful venue for other businesses to meet and progress their own commercial objectives."
The new museum houses 41 race cars in an interactive display, from the inaugural FW06 from 1978, to last season's BMW-powered FW23, driven by Ralf Schumacher and Juan Pablo Montoya.
Included among the exhibits are references to other Williams projects through the years including the Group B rally car, the Metro 6R4, and the Williams Renault Laguna touring car from 1999.
Since their inception in 1977, Williams have claimed 16 Formula One World Championship titles in a quarter of a century, making them one of the most successful teams of the recent era.
The facilities will not be open to the public at large, but the centre will host a race day presentation for selected Grands Prix each season, which will include a fully hosted museum tour, lunch and live link to the team in the paddock before large screen live coverage of the race.
