Naomi Campbell, former girlfriend of flamboyant Renault chief Flavio Briatore, has suggested she left him because he wanted her as a 'trophy girlfriend'.

Briatore, who has been involved in the glamorous world of Formula One since 1988, was with the British supermodel for two years before they split last year.

"I am not going to be a trophy," she told Marie Claire magazine, the Mail on Sunday revealed. "If you expect me to be in the kitchen cooking breakfast in high heels looking as though I just stepped out a fashion magazine it is not going to happen."

"I am alone now, but I am not lonely. I have not felt down or depressed in months."
