Schumacher to Taste Thrills of Bobsleigh

Thursday January 10th, 2002

Schumacher Tastes Thrills of Bobsleigh Michael Schumacher, Formula One's World Champion, will experience a different type of speed on Friday when he rides a bobsleigh for the first time.

Ferrari's number one, who lives in Switzerland, will be a passenger in a four-man bob in St Moritz. His spokeswoman told Reuters it was purely an invitational outing with one of the German's sponsors and would take place after practice for a World Cup race.

Former Swiss champion and Italian coach Giancarlo Torriani will be the driver. German magazine Sport Bild reported recently that the four times World Champion had insured himself for $81 million. Schumacher is due to return to testing with Ferrari later in January after an extended break.
