World champion Michael Schumacher has been challenged to a two-leg duel by leading rally driver Colin McRae to find the fastest driver in the world, according to the BBC.
McRae earned a place in World Rally's record books as the most successful driver after scoring the 25th win of his career in the Safari Rally on Sunday. And the 33-year-old has challenged Schumacher, the four-time Formula One champion, to a head-to-head battle over two legs - in a F1 car and then a rally car.
McRae told the BBC after winning in Kenya that he wants to battle with Schumacher at both disciplines to find out the quickest driver in the world. The Scot has already been behind the wheel of a Formula One car after he performed a one-off test of Martin Brundle's Jordan at Silverstone in 1996.
But German Schumacher has in the past said he has no plans to get involved in rallying because he claimed the sport was too dangerous.
