Durand Set to Replace Hamidy at Jordan

Durand Set to Replace Hamidy at JordanThe Jordan Grand Prix team are set to sign Frenchman Henri Durand as their new technical director to replace Eghbal Hamidy, according to the latest reports in the British Press.

Hamidy joined the Silverstone-based squad at the start of the 2001 season after his stay at the Arrows team, but according to the latest rumours, the Iranian engineer has split with Jordan, who are believed to be unsatisfied with his performance.

According to BBC Online, Durand is set to join Jordan this season, but no contract has been signed yet. Frenchman Durand was the technical director of the Prost Grand Prix team last season, and has also worked for Ferrari and McLaren earlier in his career.
