Peugeot in Formula One Return Rumours

Wednesday March 20th, 2002

Peugeot in Formula One Return RumoursFrench manufacturer Peugeot could return to Formula One soon , according to reports in the German press.

The French manufacturer pulled out of Formula One in 2000 after an ill-fated season providing engines to Prost as they ploughed their efforts into the World Rally Championship.

According to German magazine 'Motorsport Aktuell', Peugeot's head of motorsport Corrado Provera is preparing to launch a full Peugeot team in Formula One.

Peugeot have won the manufacturers' championship in world rallying for the past two years and it is believed that Provera wants to follow Renault's lead by entering Formula One.
