Monday March 25th, 2002

Ralf Accepts £6,000 Settlement after CrashWilliams-BMW driver Ralf Schumacher has accepted a £6,000 fine in an out-of-court settlement following an autobahn crash last November.

German Schumacher, who won the Malaysian Grand Prix eight days ago, was deemed to have been driving too fast when he instigated a multiple-car collision near Cologne last year.

"He and his lawyers have accepted the fine and now the case is finished," said his press spokesman Tomas Hoffman. "He will give the money to charity."

The damage of the crash was estimated at £14,000, and a female occupant of one car involved in the collision was slightly injured.
