Schumacher Joins Beckham for Vodafone Ads

Friday November 1st, 2002

Schumacher Joins Beckham for Vodafone AdsWorld Champion Michael Schumacher made some time for a little self-humour and fun, courtesy of Ferrari sponsors Vodafone, when the German participated in a new advertisement campaign which features himself, as well as British football star David Beckham.

Schumacher's advertisement shows the Ferrari star in Fiorano, racing against his team's test driver Luca Badoer on motorised scooters - the kind that Schumacher had made so popular in the paddock this year.

The two Ferrari drivers then cross the finish line head to head - in no different fashion, perhaps, to the attempts made by the German to create a dead heat in the US Grand Prix last month. Only this time he succeeds to cross the line first: his team members use Vodafone's new Live Pictures device to establish he is the winner.

Schumacher and Beckham's ads are scheduled to appear on television in the UK in a couple of weeks' time. The full commercials can be viewed in the mean time online: Schumacher's ad can be found at http://www.vodafonegallery.com/schumacher and Beckham's at http://www.vodafonegallery.com/beckham.
