Brazilian test driver Luciano Burti has denied stories quoting him as saying he will be replaced by compatriot Felipe Massa as Ferrari's second test driver next season.
Swiss newspaper Blick quoted Burti as saying his contract with the Italian World Champions has not been renewed due to the entry of Massa, who competed with the Sauber team this year but who is yet to announce his plans for the 2003 season after the Swiss squad decided not to renew his racing contract.
Burti, however, has denied making those comments, although he revealed that his plans for 2003 are still not decided.
"The 2002 test season has not finished for me yet," Burti said on his official website. "For next year things are still undecided. I think it is absurd that people make up phrases and then attribute them to me. I expect an apology from the publications involved."
Burti joined Ferrari at the start of 2002 after racing for the Jaguar and Prost teams.
