Brazilian Rubens Barrichello joined forces with compatriots Felipe Massa and Tony Kanaan to take his fourth win in the sixth running of Brazil's most important karting event, the 500 Miles of Granja Viana.
Despite some early problems, the Brazilian trio dominated the event, which lasted nearly twelve hours and which took place from midnight to midday last Sunday. Barrichello's team covered 746 laps, which allowed them to finish more than 11 ahead of the second-placed squad.
"The win was harder to come by than it looked," said Ferrari driver Barrichello. "After seven hours, we had brake problems and the race was much more tiring than in past years."
The victory was also CART driver Kanaan's number four, while for former Sauber driver Massa it was the second.
