Ecclestone Denies Digital F1 Cancellation

Tuesday November 19th, 2002

Ecclestone Denies Digital F1 Cancellation Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone denied reports which said the F1 Digital+ service is set to be cancelled next year.

The Guardian and The Daily Mail reported today that Ecclestone has pulled the plug on pay-per-view service due to its failure to attract enough audience.

However, in response to an inquiry by Atlas F1 Ecclestone said this afternoon: "We have not cancelled our F1 Digital+ productions." Ecclestone would not make further comments on the issue.

The F1 Digital+ service is currently available in several countries across Europe, most notably in Italy, Germany and France. Since 2002, it has also been available in Britain, through BSkyB, however failed to attract more than a few thousand subscribers.
