The BMW-Williams team will feature in behind-the-scenes documentary entitled "The Secret Life of Formula One", it was announced today.
The Discovery Channel are to screen in the UK the three-part series this month with camera crews having been allowed to access all areas relating to the team. It will be one of the first times a television crew is given extensive access to a leading Formula One team and programme makers said it "reveals the real issues facing one of Britain's foremost industries".
The first part, branded 'The Frontline', will be screened on October 6 at 7pm UK time, and details the history of motorsport following the second World War and extends into the growth of the Williams Grand Prix Engineering.
It is followed by 'The Limit', the second programme which will be shown one week later. Technology provides the main topic with the starting point the discovery of ground effect in 1977 before moving on to current aspects of the sport.
'Command and Control' is the final programme - to be shown on October 20 - and it brings the sport up to the present day, with a host of individuals within the Williams organisation, including Frank Williams, providing interviews and opinion on the sport.
