Thursday October 3rd, 2002

De la Rosa Denies Jaguar Seat in DangerSpaniard Pedro de la Rosa has denied his position at the Jaguar team in 2003 is in danger despite rumours claiming he could leave the Milton Keynes squad at the end of the season.

De la Rosa, who joined Jaguar in 2001 replacing Brazilian Luciano Burti, has a contract with the team until the end of 2003, but some reports have claimed his position could be vulnerable following some strong performances from veteran teammate Eddie Irvine in the last couple of races.

Irvine's contract expires at the end of 2002 and his future remains uncertain. De la Rosa, however, said that his position at the team is secure.

"I've been constantly asked if I'm going to continue with Jaguar Racing in the 2003 and all I can say is that I've got a contract with them for next season," said de la Rosa on his official website. "Also, Niki Lauda has already said this many times in the past."

Jaguar are yet to confirm who will occupy the second seat in 2003.
