Scot Dario Franchitti could be set to test a Formula One car for the second time after being offered the chance to test British American Racing's Honda-powered machine next year.
The Champ Car driver will move to the Indy Racing League (IRL) next year but has maintained his links with Japanese manufacturer Honda by signing for the re-named Andretti-Green Racing squad for next season.
Franchitti's previous Formula One test was with Jaguar over two years ago but he admits that he would be greatly interested in getting behind the wheels of BAR's challenger.
"An F1 test is something we've talked to Honda about, but there's nothing concrete yet. I'd like very much for it to happen." he told Autosport magazine.
BAR boss David Richards offered Franchitti the chance and added: "We have discussed this. Dario has very close links to Honda and there is a distinct chance of a test."
