Former Formula One World Champion Nelson Piquet continued his efforts to push his son Nelson Angelo Piquet up the motor racing ladder when he appeared in the British Formula Three paddock at Donington Park last weekend.
Piquet, who won three world titles in 1981, 1983 and 1987, retired at the end of 1991 and has since concentrated on getting his 17-year-old son into Formula One.
The young Brazilian, a two-time Brazilian karting champion, has been racing this year in the national Formula Renault series and is looking to secure a place to race in British Formula Three next year.
His father was seen at Donington talking to several teams and the former champion said: "I hope this is where 'little Nelson' will be next year trying to learn as much as he can."
McLaren-Mercedes driver Kimi Raikkonen's former team Manor Motorsport and Carlin, who ran Jordan's Takuma Sato last year, are both understood to be chasing Piquet for a drive.
