The BMW-Williams team are to build a second wind-tunnel in a bid to close the gap on Ferrari, according to Autosport magazine.
The Grove-based team have lodged plans for the state-of-the-art facility to the local council, according to the report, with a source claiming it should be fully functional by 2004.
Williams already have a wind-tunnel at their Oxfordshire headquarters with the new facility being used for additional aerodynamic development.
The team have won just once this season with Ralf Schumacher successful in Malaysia, while Ferrari have raced to victory in 13 of the 15 Grands Prix this season. McLaren's David Coulthard was the other victor in Monaco.
