Late Escape
Rubens Barrichello escaped a fine for arriving late at the Thursday press conference on the opening day of the Indianapolis Grand Prix weekend. The usual 3pm scheduling was brought forward to 11am to coincide with the European newspaper deadlines, and Barrichello was caught on the hop.
"I was delayed because I was in Tony Kanaan's house," he said. "This morning the breakfast was late. So..." He arrived with 20 minutes of the press conference gone, wearing 'civvies' clothes as the team did not have time to dress him properly. However, the FIA accepted his apology and let him off.
Ferrari's Footballing Success
Not content with winning everything on the track, Ferrari proved they can be equally successful on the football field - and did so without their shooting star Michael Schumacher. The team have won both World Championships, taken 13 wins from 15 races and re-written most of the records in the book. But this time, their success came at the Park Tudor High School in Indianapolis, where the mechanics' football side came out on top in a four-way tournament against teams from Williams, McLaren and BAR.
