McLaren to Support Chinese Driver's Career

McLaren to Support Chinese Driver's CareerThe McLaren-Mercedes team are to back rising Chinese driver Cheng Congfu in the hope of unearthing a future Formula One talent.

Cheng, 19, will join another McLaren protege Lewis Hamilton with Manor Motorsport in the British Formula Renault Championship this year and will receive support from the Formula One outfit.

"I'm excited by the chance to develop my skills under the guidance of such a prestigious team," Cheng said.

"My ambition is to become the first Chinese Formula One driver and this is important with the sport coming to China next year. Interest in the sport in growing rapidly in China and McLaren have many loyal fans already."
