Former Formula One driver Mika Salo will make his debut in the CART series this weekend when he joins Craig Pollock's PK Racing team for the Denver race.
Finn Salo, 36, made 110 Formula One starts in eight seasons which included spells with Ferrari, Sauber, Arrows and Toyota. He tested for PK Racing two weeks ago and will make his return to action in Denver.
"I am excited to have this opportunity with PK Racing," said Salo. "I enjoyed the test at Mid-Ohio and have been getting to know the team since then.
"It is a good group, and I think we will work very well together. Street racing is my favorite, so I am looking forward to the upcoming events at Denver and Miami."
Salo will replace CART veteran Max Papis and co-owner Pollock, the former BAR-Honda team principal, said: "Following a very positive test with Mika in Mid-Ohio last Monday, I have decided to bring him on board."
