Davidson to Drive Ferrari at Le Mans

Monday February 17th, 2003

Davidson to Drive Ferrari at Le MansBAR test driver Anthony Davidson will drive a Ferrari 550 Maranello GTS for the Veloqx Prodrive Racing team at the Le Mans 24 Hours race.

The Briton will join former Formula One driver Tomas Enge as well as Peter Kox, Jamie Davies, Kelvin Burt and Darren Turner at the team, who will first take part in the Sebring 12 Hours in March before racing in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

"I've always dreamed of racing at Le Mans," said Davidson. "This is a great opportunity and I am looking forward to what should be a terrific experience. "I know the car can run strongly and led its class at Le Mans last year, so we should be very competitive."

23-year old Davidson made his Grand Prix debut last season, when he stood in for Malaysian Alex Yoong at the Minardi team for two races.
