Former Grand Prix driver Martin Brundle and Jaguar Racing have not reached an agreement that would have seen the Briton becoming the team's new sporting director, British newspaper the Daily Mirror reported today.
Brundle, who competed for Tyrrell, Zakspeed, Williams, Brabham, Benetton, Ligier, McLaren and Jordan as a driver, was reportedly wanted to take over the running of the troubled Milton-Keynes outfit.
The British newspaper claimed that Ford-owned Jaguar wanted to hand Brundle a role as Sporting Director but the team were scared off by demands of an estimated £2 million a-year by the 43-year-old ITV commentator.
Jaguar are yet to fill the role of team principal after parting ways with Austrian Niki Lauda at the end of last year.
