Former Formula One World Champion Alain Prost is to make a return to racing when he takes part in the Andros Trophy next weekend.
47-year old Prost, who retired from Formula One at the end of the 1993 season after clinching his fourth title, will drive an Opel Astra in the ice racing series in four rounds of the championship, the first of which will take place this weekend at Lans en Vercors.
"I feel like having fun," Prost told French television. "Passion comes before everything else. I've always kept my passion for automobile racing. I'm taking the first steps in a discipline that's new to me. I feel like I'm 18 years old."
During his 13-year career Prost raced in 199 Grands Prix, winning 51 of them. In 1997 he purchased Ligier and became a team boss until the end of 2001, when his Prost Grand Prix squad had to file for bankruptcy.
