Wilson Takes Sports Minister for a Ride

Friday July 11th, 2003

Wilson Takes Sports Minister for a RideMinardi driver Justin Wilson took Britain's Sports Minister Richard Caborn for the ride of his life today, driving the team's two-seater Formula One car in London's Hyde Park.

24-year old Wilson, who will compete in his home race for the first time next week, entertained the Hyde Park crowd as he took Caborn flying along North Carriage Drive before putting the Minardi team pit crew through their paces in a simulated pitstop.

"It was a real privilege and I was very lucky," said Caborn. "Justin is a superb driver and it was an unbelievable experience, made all the better by being in the middle of London's Hyde Park.

"You can feel the Gs really push you back into your seat - all in all it was a fantastic ride."

Wilson added, "I'm sure Mr Caborn enjoyed himself - it's not every day you get the chance to drive around London in an F1 car."
